WELCOME TO THE PETS CENTRAL ANIMAL WELFARE FOUNDATION

The Pets Central Animal Welfare Foundation has been a Hong Kong registered charity since 2007. It is dedicated to promoting the welfare of pets and other animals locally – and the educational benefits pets have on children and their parents. The Foundation works with major animal welfare organizations and the individuals and organizations that fund them to support a wide range of programs promoting animal welfare.

The Foundation’s initial focus is in Hong Kong and in Greater China. Unlike other organization, The PCAWF achieves this goal by working directly through its network of highly qualified veterinarians, launching and funding innovative programs that educate people on the importance of pet parenting and animal welfare. Dr. Pauline Taylor, a co-founder of the Pets Central veterinary network of the PCAWF and has led many animal welfare initiatives.

The Foundation will support best practices in pet parenting and animal welfare that have proven successful in North America and Europe but have not yet been implemented in Greater China. These will include educational audio-visual programs for parents and children, disseminating and publicizing the growing body of research on the benefits to children who grow up with pets, programs for abused animals, animal adoption initiatives, and emergency relief in the event of man-made and natural disasters. The PCAWF works tirelessly to complement other Hong Kong-based animal charities and will collaborates wherever possible with all those who seek to foster and promote animal welfare in Greater China.
